'What it Means to be Human' STEAM lecture series!

Our lecture on Friday was a great success! Thanks to everyone who helped and attended, we had record attendance- 48 HYSA students and 75 guests for a total of 123 people! Wow!

Dr. Stones' lecture was so interesting. She spoke about how humans change their environment, and are also changed by their environment through adaptation and natural selection. She covered amylase increases in saliva in human groups who consume more starch, lactase persistence in human groups, and disease prevalence, specifically her research into the origins of human TB.

Thanks to everybody for a great evening, and I can't wait to see you all again on Friday, Nov 3rd with Jacob Kashiwagi- Industrial Engineer, and construction specialist, program manager at PBSRG and a lecturer at ASU. He is the developer of the no-influence leadership theory, the theoretical basis for the Performance Information Procurement System (PIPS) model. Jacob is also the lead researcher for the information environment model implemented at United States Army Medical Command. Currently working with the State of Oklahoma, Alaska, and Idaho, and is also the lead for ASU Network, Helpdesk, and TV projects.

See you there!
